Shop/Newsagent & Post office - College Arms (200 yds), friendly local pub with a good range of beers, franchised Tandoori restaurant and Sunday lunches. - Linton Lock(1/2 mile) grade II listed structure with marina ,bar and seperate restaurant. - Riverside walk to sister village of Newton On Ouse(1.5 miles) with two pubs (The Blacksmiths and The Dawnay Arms) offering great food, one Italian Bistro style the other with an extensive menu served in the bars or in a separate restaurant.

Public transport -Bus, regular service (Approx 2 hourly) into York or Easingwold, stops outside the Manor House. Last bus back from York departs 11pm.
